Stan was an outstanding all-rounder, right hand bat and right arm opening
bowler. He played for New City from 1959 to 1984.

In a representative match against Holbrook, he took 9 for 47 and scored 35
runs. In a Matheson Shield Final at the Albury Sports Ground, Stan took 8 for 8, including a hat trick with the final wicket being Bill McCaig who had made 134 previously in his last innings for Northern Riverina.
Stan won the Williamson Medal on 6 occasions, including the 1977 ABCA Player
of the Year Award which was a signed 1977 England and Australia Centenary Test Match Bat.
