Jim Wilson

Jim Wilson was an outstanding all-rounder, right hand batsman and right arm opening fast bowler. He played 10 seasons with Kiwi’s, Bandiana, Wodonga, and East Albury.

He scored 6 centuries, including:

• 105 against North Albury
• 123 against Murray South
• 177 not out against Murray South in a Semi Final, and
• 151 against East Albury in a Grand Final

His best bowling efforts were:

• 7 for 14 and 7 for 6 against Lavington in his 1st ever game in the Association
• 9 for 46 and 7 for 19 against East Albury
• 8 for 27 and 7 for 16 against Lavington
• 5 for 67 and 6 for 18 in the Grand Final against Newmarket.

His best all round effort was:

• 7 for 24 and 87 not out against City Colts

Jim won the Inaugural Williamson Medal and Cricketer of the Year in the 1957/58 season. He represented the Association at Country Week on 4 occasions, including the 1947-48 side that won the Provincial Grade Premiership
