Jeff started playing for Belvoir Cricket Club in 1997. Over a period of 30 years Jeff has played over 360 games for the Belvoir Cricket Club. Jeff, known as “Bird”, was a genuine character of the game. He was of his time, the long hair, the stubbies shorts, singlet and thongs and the splitting hangover every Saturday morning.

Not known for his batting, he has relied on his outstanding bowling efforts where he has taken over 730 wickets in the past 30 years.

Some of Jeff’s highlights were:

8/32 against Wodonga Raiders
6/14 against VRI
6/41 against Terminus
6/19 against Chiltern
6/53 against Kiewa
6/72 against Bandiana
5/18 against Yackandandah

He also won the Wodonga & District bowling award on 2 occasions. Jeff’s claim to fame will always be the day he fronted up on a Saturday afternoon very hungover and his Captain, Terry Clear trying to teach him a lesson by bowling
him non-stop for 33 overs! (65 over Match) However, his bowling figures for the match were 33 overs, 8 maidens, 6/54 and he was the first one to the esky after the match.

Along the way, Jeff coached juniors for more than 10 years and served on the committee of Belvoir Cricket Club for more than 30 years.
