Arthur was a genuine all-rounder who moved to the area in 1951 and played his first game of cricket for East Albury in October 1952. He continued playing First Grade cricket for East Albury until the end of the 1974 season. During that time, he played in 10 First Grade Grand Finals, in which East Albury were victorious 6 times, with Arthur captaining the side 3 times.

Some of Arthur’s highlights are:

  • 113 not out against Wodonga
  • 97 not out against St Patrick’s
  • 80 and 6/29 against Wodonga
  • 7/19 against Bandiana
  • 7/20 against Bandiana
  • 6/12 against New City
  • 6/13 against St Patrick’s

His best all round performance was in the 1957-58 season where he made 555 runs and took 42 wickets. We would also like to acknowledge the amount of time and effort that Arthur put into his beloved East Albury Cricket Club, as well as the ABCA.
